Colors are my favorite area of art! I grew up around the 16 bit era which had lots of sweet colorful pallets.

I don't want a single style so expect to see curve-balls from me now and then, it all really depends on what I'm working on. A lot of my most colorful painted pieces come to me on a whim, while the others have been planned out. I've worked on a good chunk of collabs, so if you're interested in team ups shoot me a note!

I'm often part of tribute projects for old games, re-imagined into 3D! If people want prints of my work then there's no harm in having the option. :)

I like how RedBubble is organized.

Society6 has a little more printing options if that's what you're looking for.

For a while I thought about leaving sketches and unfinished work off my DA but decided that I would instead post a bunch of it anyways. People can enjoy the old sketches for what they are, and see my stuff in super rough state, but also by posting these publicly means I can't just hide it. I may actually finish some (especially if people want to see a sketch taken to finish. just speak up! It might give me enough of a motivational kick.

Unrelated to art I've spent a weekend trialing out some photoshop plugins I made.

It's clear to many artists that Adobe just doesn't give a damn about us, and they just put all their focus into making the graphic designers and photo touchups their time. To demonstrate this point they just added grouped fonts to CC2015.5, meanwhile grouped brushes has been asked and pleaded from artists for FIVE YEARS and we're left dry. CC2014 and up is just not worth it for digital artists, and so many of us are left stranded in the abandoned CS5, CS6 or CC. I use CS6. Well in CC2014 they dropped flash support, which means some of the best plugins for artists got left behind.

Many of which seem like they should belong by default, like color wheels. Many of which are made by artists, for artists. Lots of artists don't know how to code, or certainly dont know how to code in the new HTML5 so that's the end of the road for these plugins and why newer versions of Photoshops is just no good for art, when all it does is add bloated and ignore the fact PS is a industry standard for professional digital painters.

I can't code either, not even in flash or java! So the plugins I made are crude but simple, aiming to bring more user friendly art-related tasks to the front. I happen to know lots of stuff inside photoshop, that might be buried or just a pain to remember where things are so I don't really use it too much.

The first one allows nearly the whole UI to be toggled with icons instead of hunting through the [Window] list or dealing with the tear off icons which can lead to a real headache and a pet peeve. For a mouse the fly out icons work good, but once you add a Wacom it becomes THE WORST. I hate having to be careful on how I move around in the UI, when it should be focused on speed. So I've made a way to solve this, in the past I just used shortcuts to activate windows but I like the simple button approach too.

Custom panels are usually a very personal thing, but I'm opening it up to more people if anyone's interested in "beta testing" this out, leme know!
maybe Cronoan do youuu use CS6?

And a st.ash to click if you want to try it out! If people try it let me know your thoughts if youd change the order of the icons or if you think anything is missing.

9-1-16 Demon Fox
Sketch for tonight is the demon fox and the first actual anime fanart I've ever done.

I was just doing basic practice on with simple colors and building up from scribbles but before long I added lighting and I was making a full scene out of it.
The ref I used was a stuffed animal d.facdn.net/art/ninkenshiba/13…

8-26-16 TwilightCity thumbs
Decided that I'll be returning to WaveRace in a completely different way than my last one.

Never done a city by the water before! Since studying water physics last time that was easy but the actual detail in the city buildings will be the new challenge...

Samus color comps
Backlog sketches!

A while back I was going to do a teamup with Maiss-Thro and my brother, because he was impressed with our coloring. These were just practice stuff to get ready for the main event. The best way to test if you really "get" lighting is to just to explore! Edwardo did the original drawing, but instead of waiting for him to finish Samus I started a deadline ink and coloring it early throwing a bunch of different themes on top of it, you might even recognize some!

The drawing here was unfinished, which is why it looks silly when Samus only has one leg =p Samus was only about 1/10th of the actual planned image but it never panned out because he got too busy with commissions. So this is one that never got off the ground, even though I got a head start on it. I do like the last toxic color scheme so I'll probably use that theme for another image.

2300 AD - Comps
Backlog sketches!

On the Chrono Trigger tribute project I was thinking about doing the Robot Factory, from the outside. To highlight just how barren and totaled the era is, dominated by the choking pollution. I never really decided on which version I liked more, I was playing with actually having a whole set of 2300 AD images, ranging from dawn, all the way to the night. My lab16 fav.me/d9ettfd represents the "mid day" in the scale. ;)

I've actually played VS before, but I havent had it for a while. The SNES version definitely has a lot of fond memories but my favorite was always X and GX being able to attack people. Not quite the same when the only "attack" is to ram your opponent. ;) VS is fun on its own right to run blind against Death Wind II or Fire Field when you haven't played it in years. =p

I've been a bit busy (reading that A LOT), but I'm still thinking on that collab. Just finding some time to do so.

Yeah, I still have it in the back of my mind. I just got a new PC, in the process of gutting windows 8 into something workable but hopefully I'll be able to unleash some more finally having more than 4 gb of ram

Try Classic Shell. Little add-on that bypass Win8's Start and gives you a desktop as default. That I did, perfectly it works.

I'm actually using Start8, Stardock did a really great job bringing the start menu actually back instead of what Windows failed flat on their face on. It's pretty much exactly how Win7 operates. Once I gutted everything "modern" out of Win8 it seems like a more streamlined Win7 so that's cool. Also testing out Modernmix (runs win8 metro apps in window mode) and Fences. Fences seems like a better attempt to phone-ize Windows than Metro can ever hope to be, it's nice but I doub't I'll continue using it after the trials over.

Another program I'm trying out modifies explorer into something akin to web browsing. I'm really liking tabbed explorer windows so far. The program is Clover3 if you wanna check it out. :)
And now to try to install Photoshop on Win8...
